Every ultrasound and consultation is performed personally by Dr. Armstrong, a board-certified veterinary internist (DACVIM) — never delegated to a technician or sent out for remote reading. You're present during the exam, and findings are discussed with you before you leave. For most pets, the ultrasound and consultation together give you the complete picture: not just images, but a clear working diagnosis and plan you can act on.
Referring veterinarians: imaging-only requests welcome, see Abdominal Ultrasound below.
$200
A one-on-one case review with Dr. Armstrong, board-certified internist (DACVIM). He reviews your pet's history, examines the findings, and gives you a clear diagnosis and plan. Most ultrasound cases benefit from a consultation, this is where the images become answers.
$875
Most complete!
Our recommended option. A complete abdominal ultrasound performed and interpreted by Dr. Armstrong, paired with a full consultation, so you leave understanding what was found and exactly what to do next. Performed with you present, results discussed before you go.
$675
A complete abdominal ultrasound performed and interpreted by a board-certified internist. Intended for referring veterinarians requesting imaging only, who will interpret and act on the report themselves. Owners are encouraged to add a consultation so findings can be explained and a treatment plan provided.
Total cost: $430
Procedure: $100
Pathology (Cytology Submission): $330
Must be performed alongside an internal medicine consultation or abdominal ultrasound. A recent ultrasound report and a normal platelet count within the last 30 days are required at the time of the appointment.

Medical Records Requirement
We strongly encourage emailing all available medical records to armstrongacvim@gmail.com at least 48 hours prior to your appointment so we can best prepare and maximize our time together helping your pet. If records arrive after the visit and require additional review, a $50 additional fee may apply to account for the extra specialist time involved.
All listed prices reflect our standard fees for credit/debit card payments. For clients who prefer cash, we are pleased to offer a 3% courtesy adjustment as appreciation for this convenient payment method.
Abdominal Ultrasounds and Internal Medicine Consultation
All abdominal ultrasounds at VIMG are performed and interpreted in real time by Dr. Armstrong, a board-certified specialist in small animal internal medicine.
Because diagnostic ultrasound is a highly operator-dependent modality requiring immediate clinical correlation, studies acquired by non-specialist technicians prior to referral frequently require repeat examination to ensure diagnostic accuracy regardless if a board certified specialist interpreted the images or not.
To provide your patients with the most efficient workup and avoid unnecessary duplication of services, we recommend coordinating the ultrasound and internal medicine consultation with VIMG together from the outset.
